Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education with secondary endorsement and approval(s) in specific subject matter area(s) to be taught.
Job SummaryThe classroom teacher is involved in designing a flexible program and classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth. The classroom environment is to be favorable to learning and personal growth for both students and the teacher. The teacher will establish an effective professional rapport with students; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge; and continuously check the progress of the students through the curriculum.
The teacher will establish positive relationships with parents and with other staff members.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interests of students.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum and, in conjunction with those goals, establish clear objectives for all lesson units, projects, and educational activities designed to communicate these goals to students.
- Employ instructional methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting the stated objectives.
- Clearly present lessons to students.
- Be enthused and self-motivated to help motivate the students to achieve to the best of their abilities. Build self-esteem.
- Make assignments that are clear and reasonable.
- Help students acquire good study and work habits.
