The school offers very small class sizes, allowing teachers and therapists to assess each learner’s strengths and challenges and create individualized instructional plans. Daily dyslexia therapy, grounded in Orton‑Gillingham based instruction, supports intensive reading intervention and promotes confident, independent learning. Students are encouraged to discover their talents, develop their own learning styles, and experience success alongside peers who share similar strengths and needs.
Bright Academy’s program is designed to help students re‑engage with learning, build essential academic and language skills, and prepare for successful transitions back to regular classroom settings.
This is a full‑time, on‑site 3rd Grade Teacher role based in Mobile, AL. The 3rd Grade Teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons in core subjects, integrating current scientific reading research and dyslexia‑friendly practices into daily instruction. Responsibilities include differentiating instruction for small classes, collaborating with dyslexia therapists to support reading intervention, and monitoring student progress toward benchmark goals. The teacher will regularly assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, maintain accurate records, and communicate clearly with families and colleagues.
Additional duties include contributing to a positive classroom climate, supporting students’ social‑emotional growth, participating in school meetings and professional development, and helping learners build independence and confidence.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Teaching and Elementary Education, with experience supporting diverse learning needs.
- Candidates should possess skills in Curriculum Development and Education, including planning structured, research‑based lessons.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field required; valid teaching certification preferred.
- Experience working with dyslexic learners or familiarity with Orton‑Gillingham or similar structured literacy approaches is highly beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction, use data to guide teaching, and foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.
