Position: Spanish Teacher (Spanish I and Spanish II)

OVERVIEW

In consultation with colleagues in the Division World Languages department, the Spanish teacher is responsible for teaching a full load of Spanish classes.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
  • Teach a full load of Spanish classes, to possibly include any combination of Spanish I, Spanish II, and/or an Alternative Instruction (AIP) class.
  • Using teacher content materials, plan for engaging students in course content, course materials, and methods of instruction based on benchmarks and standards.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, collaborate with colleagues, and actively participate in professional development.
  • Participate in campus and community events.
  • Develop positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • With collaboration of fellow World Language department teachers, continually review curricula for all courses
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate field from accredited university required;
    Master's or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Several years of experience preferred, but not required
  • Experience with College Board AP curricula preferred, but not required
  • Experience teaching students with learning challenges preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to move heavy equipment, stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, operate computer and other office and classroom equipment.
