Position Overview
Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Ground Test Inspector (GTI) to join our team based in Mobile, AL. The GTI will be responsible for the planning, execution, and validation of Ground Tests in the Final Assembly Line, ensuring aircraft systems meet design specifications through the Airbus Test System (ESAO). The role involves demonstration of conformity within aircraft systems, initiation of actions to isolate and eliminate deviations, and coordination of retests.
Key Responsibilities- Perform ground tests.
- Prepare the aircraft and workstation surroundings for ground tests on various avionics and electrical systems in a safe environment.
- Perform function tests on all systems (flight controls, navigation, passenger entertainment, etc.) in parallel to the assembly of the aircraft from beginning to Flight Testing.
- Organize documentation of any non-conformity in the SAP NC system and initiate associated retests (Repeat Test Instruction) after rework.
- Perform troubleshooting (T/S) on test systems and aircraft systems, prepare and coordinate troubleshooting, and distinguish error types.
- Clarify problems with the engineering department.
- Support improvement measures and identify internal problems to continuously improve the "On Time On Quality" production process.
- Apply knowledge of drawing systems, quality management systems, IT systems, production line principles and methods, industry safety practices, and industrial technical processes.
- Maintain highly proficient written and spoken English.
- Use computer skills and experience with MS Office products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience, preferably as an Aircraft Avionics Technician with a focus on aircraft systems (electrical preferred) or as an experienced Quality Inspector in avionics systems in international aviation.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting on aircraft systems.
- Experience in A320 Family type rating is beneficial.
- Knowledge of drawing systems, quality management systems, IT systems, production line principles and methods, industry safety practices, industrial technical processes.
- Highly proficient written and spoken English.
- Computer skills and working experience with MS Office products.

- Equipment Operation:
Able to operate hydraulic lifts and arms. - Carrying:
Occasionally carry up to 20 lbs (9 kg). - Lifting:

Able to push and pull items in office areas and shop floor. - Sitting:
Able to sit for extended periods at the computer and in meetings. - Squatting/Kneeling:
Sometimes squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items on lower shelves. - Standing:
Able to stand for extended periods delivering information. - Travel/Mobility:
Able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods and on short notice. - Walking:
Able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips, and sometimes on uneven surfaces. - Space Limitations:
Working on jigs at the fuselage at a height of 15 feet.
