Overview

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, AL is seeking a A220 Flight line Quality Inspector to join our team. The role covers quality activities from handover from the FAL through flight testing to final customer delivery, ensuring aircraft system integrity and conformity per design specifications and functional test procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Execute and verify Flight line Quality activities during the flight line phase, from handover through flight test to delivery.
  • Demonstrate aircraft system integrity and conformity in accordance with design specifications by verifying functional test procedures and declaring aircraft ready for production flight testing.
  • Evaluate test results by documenting tests performed and related results.
  • Serve as the flight test team Quality representative in technical reviews.
  • Participate in meetings with Liaison, FAL/Flight line, Design Office, Programs, and Quality teams.
  • Perform ground checks, static system tests, APU run, engine runs, and other tests in accordance with the FTP and in coordination with the flight test department.
  • Support improvement measures; clarify problems with engineering, customers, and suppliers.
  • Responsible for closure of Transport Canada snags and for FAA C of A applications and service bulletins; MRB approval in the non-conformance management system; revise and approve flight permits; ensure aircraft conforms to approved design data.
  • Support customer deliveries for any aspect of aircraft conformity and release for flight.
Your boarding pass
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Flight line quality inspector in aeronautics.
  • Leadership experience preferred; airline experience preferred.
  • Valid FAA A&P or TCCA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) M2 license required.
  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
  • Valid A220 type rating preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Vision: ability to read on computer screens and gauges; able to identify individuals for directions and interactions.
  • Hearing: ability to hear safety alerts and engage in conversations in offices and production areas.
  • Speaking: able to communicate in person and via electronic means to groups of varying sizes.
  • Equipment Operation: able to operate personal and office electronics; work at heights up to 40 feet on fuselage jigs and hydraulic lifts.
  • Working Conditions/Physical Demands: capable of supporting 2-shift system and occasional weekends as needed.
  • Carrying/Lifting: occasional lifting up to 55 lbs (25 kg).
  • Pushing/Pulling, Sitting, Squatting/Kneeling, Standing, Travel, and Walking as required by duties.
