Job Description

The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a Supplier Quality Conformance Manager (QCM) to join our Supplier QCM team based in Mobile, Alabama, USA, where you will work alongside the Operations and Procurement teams. You will be part of the Supplier QCM team responsible for ensuring adherence to quality requirements and validating supplier issues raised by our operations. The team is organized to promote cross‑functional collaboration, working autonomously, supporting each other, and learning collectively.

Your role as a Supplier QCM will be to take the necessary contingency actions at our suppliers to protect operations from external quality issues while ensuring excellent collaboration with internal teams to better define the issues encountered in the production line.

Primary Responsibilities (90%)
  • Influence and facilitate communications between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be a change agent to promote a culture of quality throughout the company.
  • Must investigate and identify future risks.
  • Be responsible for synthesizing simple to complex situations in order to present them to different levels of management.
  • Must communicate and work with different cultures located in different countries.
  • Be an Airbus representative to A220 suppliers.
Other Responsibilities (10%)

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in quality assurance, quality control, manufacturing operations, manufacturing engineering / methods, or a similar role within the aviation industry.

Licensure /

Certifications:

Preferred:
Certifications in quality management, aviation safety, or regulatory compliance.

Travel: 10% Domestic and International.

Citizenship: Eligible for employment in the US, able to work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship.

Clearance: N/A.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of standards and regulations (AS9100, TCCA, FAA, EASA).
  • Solid problem‑solving experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership, autonomy, and teamwork ability.
  • Flexibility to communicate with suppliers in different time zones.
  • Strong ability to synthesize and document information.
Communication Skills

Required:

Able to influence discussion and stakeholders using fluent English at a negotiation level; effective verbal and written communication skills in English, for operating in a multicultural and multifunctional environment.

Technical Systems Proficiency

Required:

  • SAP systems and portfolio.
  • MS Office, Google Suite, or similar applications.

Preferred:

  • Basic IT programming knowledge.
  • Analytics.
Complexity of the Role

Possibility of on‑call duty during weekends and/or holiday periods. This position requires an awareness of all potential compliance risks and a commitment to acting with integrity; these values are the foundation of the company’s success, reputation, and sustainable growth.

Level of Decision Making
  • The individual will have decision‑making power within the guidelines and procedures linked to the listed responsibilities.
  • The individual will have decision‑making power formally delegated to him/her from the Head of Quality Assurance.
  • The individual will have decision‑making power within the defined scope of SME (Subject Matter Expert) for which they can be nominated.
Reporting Structure

Reports locally in Mobile to the AAPIL and functionally to the ABPO organization in Mirabel.

Physical Requirements
  • Onsite: 100% Onsite.
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings daily.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms daily.
