Overview
The Director will supervise all operational Quality lineside activities on the Single Aisle Flowlines and the completion line, lead and develop quality teams, and ensure compliance with Airbus Quality Standards and regulatory requirements.

Your Challenges

Quality Assurance – 30%
  • Implement and secure the effectiveness of the Airbus Quality Management System on the Mobile Flowlines.
  • Verify and certify aircraft compliance with qualified Quality Lineside technicians.
  • Demonstrate QMS implementation and surveillance to authorities.
  • Support VSM process owners in continuous improvement of process maturity and efficiency.
  • Secure Airbus quality and safety standards per policies and regulations.
  • Manage risk mitigation and oversight of key areas.
  • Coordinate with Single Aisle flowline management on quality business and stakeholder engagement.
Preventive Quality – 30%
  • Develop systems to capture and improve product and process quality; reduce CnQ.
  • Report quality KPIs and analyze issues to drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring high satisfaction and addressing recurring quality issues.
  • Continuously improve quality level and policies.
  • Implement AOS bricks for practical problem solving, non‑quality management and FOD management.
Lead/Develop – 30%
  • Lead and develop Quality Lineside Teams.
  • Make cost decisions and secure head counts aligned with operational needs.
  • Manage budget for A320 Quality Operations and NDT teams (Opex & Capex).
  • Ensure competency levels meet time, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Implement make/buy strategy for relevant activities.
  • Track and improve KPI reporting systems.
  • Share best practices across FALs.
  • Maintain smooth flowline processes with adequately staffed quality teams.
Other Duties – 10%
  • Lead quality system improvement initiatives.
  • Set and track departmental quality targets.
  • Adhere to Airbus Quality standards.
  • Produce performance trend reports.
  • Participate in setting key projects for FAL and Single‑Aisle Quality Network.
  • Advocate for FAL‑USA ways of working.
  • Travel to Europe and other sites as required.
  • Act with integrity in line with FAL‑Mobile Culture.
  • Improve culture and mind‑set for the A320 line.

Your Boarding Pass

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience in Production Quality.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in aerospace or equivalent environment.
  • 5+ years managerial experience in Quality.
  • Strong knowledge of non‑conformance management and root‑cause analysis within Airbus.
  • Demonstrated practical problem‑solving skills.
  • Understanding of Kaizen manufacturing approach.
  • Knowledge of production processes and aircraft build cycle.
  • Knowledge of aircraft design, manufacturing rules, mechanical & electrical installation.
  • Familiarity with American aviation market, airlines, and representatives.
  • Ability to quickly grasp procedural and technical documents.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
