Job Description
Airbus US Manufacturing Facility A320 is looking for a Ground Test Inspector to join our Manufacturing Department based in Mobile, AL.
As an Avionics Test Technician (Ground Test Performer), you will play a critical role in the Final Assembly Line by planning, executing, and validating aircraft systems tests. You will be responsible for demonstrating that our aircraft systems conform to design specifications through the Airbus Test System. When deviations occur, you will initiate actions to isolate, document, and eliminate issues to ensure peak safety and performance.
Responsibilities- Execute Avionics and System Testing (80%): Prepare aircraft and workstation for testing, perform function tests on all systems, coordinate troubleshooting with engineering teams, document non-conformities, clarify and improve test instructions.
- Training others: Train colleagues on A320 aircraft systems, safety operations, Airbus Operating System, and Airbus processes.
- Safety (10%): Ensure safety of people and aircraft, perform safety risk analysis, document and track aircraft configuration and testing status.
- Planning (10%): Daily planning and coordination of testing with operations, engineering, planning, and aircraft managers; track status of non-conformities; identify internal problems for continuous improvement and productivity.
- Other duties as assigned.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of Airbus post‑employment trainings:
Health & Safety, General aircraft familiarization, Quality Training.
- 5 years aviation experience in avionics, systems, or cabin systems.
- Minimum 2 years as an Aircraft Avionics Technician with focus on aircraft systems (electrical preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of troubleshooting on aircraft systems.
- Knowledge of station safety, quality, and OSHA regulations.
- Own and maintain tools and support equipment safely.
- Basic avionic troubleshooting knowledge.
- Experience with tools that identify and isolate electrical and data failures.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using a computer to enter, generate, and retrieve information.
- Travel requirement: 5% domestic and international.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Preferred: A320 or Airbus aircraft experience; avionics or cabin system experience in production or maintenance environment.
- Vision: Able to read computer screens and documents.
- Hearing: Able to hear conversations and production floor warnings.
- Speaking: Able to communicate in meetings.
- Equipment Operation: Able to operate office equipment and production tools.
- Carrying/Lifting: Able to carry up to 30 lbs/14 kg.
- Pushing/Pulling: Able to push and pull small office furniture and equipment.
- Sitting: Able to sit for long periods.
- Squatting/Kneeling: Able to squat or kneel for low shelving.
- Standing: Able to stand for discussions on production floor.
- Travel/Mobility: Able to travel independently and at short notice.
- Walking: Able to walk through uneven surfaces.
