Reliability Mechanical Specialist - Industrial Rotating Equipment
Location: Theodore, AL (Mobile Area)
Job Type: Direct Hire
Travel: Regional travel throughout the Southeast required
We are seeking a Reliability Mechanical Specialist to support industrial maintenance and reliability initiatives for rotating and mechanical equipment across multiple facilities in the Southeast region. This role focuses on troubleshooting, inspections, predictive maintenance, and reliability improvement for critical industrial systems.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with compressors, pumps, turbines, and other rotating equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment and can work independently while supporting plant operations and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and perform installation, inspections, maintenance, and overhauls of industrial rotating equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair compressors, pumps, turbines, motors, gearboxes, heat exchangers, chillers, and piping systems
- Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to regional facilities
- Assist with turnaround planning, mechanical cost estimates, and maintenance strategies
- Support root cause analysis and resolution of chronic equipment reliability issues
- Perform precision measurements, alignments, and mechanical diagnostics
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records using CMMS systems
- 5+ years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience required
- Strong experience with rotating equipment and industrial process systems
- Knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance programs
- Experience with vibration analysis, alignment, and troubleshooting preferred
- Familiarity with CMMS/EAM systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and work in both office and field environments
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Millwright or machinist apprenticeship experience
- Knowledge of industrial standards and maintenance best practices
