Job Description
Avionics Technician-Ground Test Inspector (GTI) will be responsible for the planning, execution and validation of Ground Tests in the Final Assembly Line. This includes the demonstration of conformity within aircraft systems to the design specifications through attestation in the Airbus Test System (ESAO). Initiate actions to isolate, document and ultimately eliminate any deviations detected.
Skill Bridge Eligibility- Active-duty service member within 180 days of separation.
- Written Commander (O‑4 or above) authorization.
- Must have current work authorization for U.S. positions.

U.S. Assembly Facility
On 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus' strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.
YourChallenges
Perform Ground Tests
- Prepare the aircraft and workstation surroundings for ground tests on various avionics and electrical systems, in a safe environment.
- Perform function tests on all systems (flight controls, navigation, passenger entertainment, etc.) in parallel to the assembly of the aircraft from beginning to Flight Testing.
- Organize documentation of any non‑conformity in the SAP NC system and initiate associated retests (Repeat Test Instruction) after finalization of rework.
- Collaborate with Ground Test Design, Engineering, Quality and Shop Floor departments.
Perform Troubleshooting (T/S)
- Perform troubleshooting on test systems and on aircraft systems.
- Prepare and coordinate troubleshooting and distinguish error types.
- Clarify problems with the engineering department.
- Ensure the safety of people and the aircraft all along the process, until the test closes up.
- Execute ground test following released documents and their associated work orders based on quality, cost and time.
- Enter and record the values plotted during the test when measurements are required inside released documents.
Support improvement measures
- Identify problems internally in order to continuously improve the "On Time On Quality" production process.
- Perform and check operational tests and attest the conformity of the aircraft or a major constituent assembly in accordance with released documentation (e.g. Ground Test Instructions (GTIs), Repeat Test Instructions (RTIs), Retest Sheet, Work Order (WO)).
- Perform upload of software equipment on/off aircraft and already installed on aircraft if needed.
- Extract electrical schematics for troubleshooting and perform specific tests to identify root cause failure.
- Launch Practical Problem Solving (PPS) for continuous improvements.
- GTP performs root cause analysis, if the test result is not compliant with released documents.
- Investigate:
Test tool failure, A/C equipment failure or A/C installation discrepancy.
- Declaration and follow up of non conformity (e.g. NC, design deviation, ground test user request,..) for rework or certification, according to the good procedure.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to successfully complete trainings provided by Airbus

- Quality Training
- Training from a vocational school or previous employer in the use of application tools and in application techniques.
- Must be active-duty military with command authorization and within 180 days of separation. Eligible to participate in DoD Skill Bridge Program.
