Position
Aircraft Certifying Manager – 2nd Shift (Mobile, AL)
Responsibilities- Ensure that aircraft documentation is up-to-date and that the "As-Built" status matches the "As Designed" target definition through processes such as ABCL, FTPs, C of C’s, ECS, TLB, and QLB.
- Establish, analyze, and validate ABCL under responsibility of Final Assembly Line (FAL), Plant, or Supplier as assigned.
- Issue the Aircraft Statement of Conformity and/or Transport Canada Export Airworthiness Certificate.
- Transmit aircraft certification files to Transport Canada and assist the FAA Designated Airworthiness Representative for FAA certificate issuance.
- Report export activities to Transport Canada, attend all required TCCA training, and maintain the Transport Canada embossing seal and stamps per regulations.
- Investigate, resolve, or justify conformity discrepancies at the aircraft level, coordinating with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, I.T., and other internal or external contacts.
- Check the conformity status of all Constituent Assemblies (CA) integrated into the aircraft.
- Attend status meetings and represent the Conformity Department as needed.
- Collect, review, and file documentation relevant to the build and sale of aircraft.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Professional education in aeronautical maintenance or engineering, aviation technology, or equivalent experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in an aeronautical field (production, maintenance, and engineering), with 3 years of practical experience related to Transport Canada airworthiness certification and FAA regulatory requirements.
- Hold an AME M2 or E license, or FAA A&P license.
- Experience of 48 months in aviation and 24 months on large aircraft.
- Competency in company conformity attestation processes, configuration management rules, and aviation regulations (TCCA CAR 561, POA).
- General knowledge of aeronautical regulations, industry standards, and related approvals.
- Knowledge of configuration management basics and familiarity with aircraft and system assemblies.
- Ability to manage or write procedural or instructional documentation.
- Proficiency with problem‑solving methods (e.g., PPS, 5‑Why).
- Strong understanding of links between regulations, industry standards, and company directives.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage large data sets effectively.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Effective communication of complex issues to diverse audiences.
- Independent decision‑making aligned with integrity, objectivity, and impartiality.
- Understanding of conflict‑of‑interest policies and ethical conduct.
- Knowledge of Lean Management and ability to propose improvement solutions.
- Capacity to work under pressure and maintain safety and integrity.
- Vision, hearing, and speaking adequate for reading, communicating, and operating equipment.
- Use personal computer, telephone, fax, and office equipment; handle tools and concepts up to 30 lbs (14 kg).
- Perform lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing tasks as required by production and office environments.
- Travel: up to 10% domestic and international, with short‑notice flexibility.
