  • Interface with toolmakers globally to ensure tooling is built and modified to specification and timeline.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of molding defects (e.g., warpage, sink marks, flash, short shots) and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Use mold flow analysis and simulation data to optimize part design and mold performance.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Metrology teams to validate part dimensions using CMM, laser scan, and other techniques.
  • Maintain full documentation of mold changes, validation reports, and lessons learned.
  • Ensure tooling meets automotive standards including OEM specifications and internal validation criteria.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tooling Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or relative experience
  • Proficiency in interpreting CAD drawings, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and tolerancing standards.

  • Knowledge of automotive product development processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with tight timelines across global suppliers.
  • Willingness to travel to tool shops, suppliers, and plant locations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in mold development or plastic injection molding, preferably in automotive.
  • Strong understanding of injection molding process and plastic part behavior.
