Job Description
Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Flight line Mechanic A220 to join our team based in Mobile, AL. The Flight line Mechanic is responsible for performing Functional Test Procedure (FTP), Pre & Post Flight inspection to prepare built aircraft for test flight and delivery readiness. This includes operating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and inspecting aircraft systems using approved aircraft data, test equipment and tooling.
The role requires interpreting technical manuals, drawings and engineering data to support tasks, completing assignments within the allocated man‑hour budget and meeting safety, quality and cost guidelines.

Your Working EnvironmentLocated on ‘Airbus Way’, the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The site is a key part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance U.S. aerospace competitiveness.

- Perform FTP, Pre/Post flight checklist and Daily Inspection (DI) to prepare built aircraft for test flight readiness
- Learn new tasks and techniques in troubleshooting aircraft systems to support flight line operations at Airbus FAL Mobile Flight line Organization
- Troubleshoot malfunctions, conduct repairs and replacements of aircraft structures, components and systems of moderate difficulty, including landing gear, flight surfaces, controls, anti‑icing, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, ventilation, heating and cooling systems, and cabin interior components
- Serve, repair and prepare documentation in accordance with company procedures and specifications
- Perform post‑dock maintenance daily checklist, safety and security, and incoming inspection
- Conduct day‑to‑day planned and unplanned aircraft maintenance tasks
- Participate in development and improvement of family system troubleshooting skills
- Perform Refuel/Defuel, Aircraft Jack and Tow duties and other miscellaneous aircraft services (e.g., hydraulic and engine oil, tire/strut service) and be familiar with handling hazardous material policy
- Apply basic electrical/ mechanical theory and knowledge of aircraft tools (test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, powered and non‑powered support equipment)
- Apply knowledge of aircraft sealing techniques, sealant characteristics (storage, application, tack‑free and cure times) and related procedures
- Read and interpret approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures (FTP/WO/AMM/IPC/AWD/SB/CMM)
- Engage in process improvement, root cause analysis, 5S and other tools to enhance workload, quality, safety and reduce cycle time
- Participate in daily SQCDP projects and tool/FOD management
- Work in confined spaces, at height, and outdoors under varying conditions
- Support and train other aircraft technicians, maintain working relationships with lead personnel regarding schedules, priorities, parts, supplies and special instructions
- Utilize a variety of hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices, test equipment and jigs/fixtures, including crane, cherry‑picker, forklift, lifting platform and loading platform (license as required)
