The Cabin Design Engineer supports the development, customization, and continuous evolution of aircraft cabin and cargo interiors/payloads for airline customers. In this role, the engineer works independently under general direction, performing routine to moderate levels of engineering design, analysis, and data integration from the initial conceptual phase through final product installation.

• Evaluate supplier 3D/2D design solutions.
• Manage part number steering and configuration data within complex databases.
• Troubleshoot installation issues at the Final Assembly Line (FAL).
• Track critical supplier engineering deliverables.
• Author customized specifications to meet airline requirements.
• Perform design integration & maturation using 3D modeling software, including part integration, clearance/clash analysis, and trade studies.
• Steer part numbers and BOM within PLM tools to ensure correctness across product variants.
• Review, evaluate, and secure engineering compliance documents from suppliers to support airworthiness approval (Certification Plans, Test Plans, Test Reports, DDP).
• Provide real‑time engineering support and troubleshooting on the shop floor or at the FAL, collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering to resolve installation non‑conformances.

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 6 years of experience in design, analysis, and systems/structural integration of cabin interiors, furnishings, or payload installation projects.
• Demonstrated experience with configuration management, engineering change tracking, or part structures within an aerospace Design Office environment.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to understand and mentor principles within the assigned discipline.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical aircraft topics.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Working knowledge of cabin interior product development.

• Must work onsite (100%).
• Vision: able to see and read computer screens, documents, and engineering drawings.
• Hearing: able to participate in conversations and hear sounds on the production floor.
• Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings.
• Equipment Operation: able to operate office electronic equipment and some production tools (e.g., hydraulic lifts).
• Carrying/Lifting: able to carry or lift up to 30lbs (14kg).
• Pushing/Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and equipment.
• Sitting: able to sit for long periods.
• Squatting/Kneeling: able to squat or kneel.
• Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
• Travel: able to travel independently and on short notice.
• Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces.
• PPE: required safe shoes, glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, and/or protective gloves as required by site and/or customer site.
