As a member of the Airbus Cabin Upgrade Engineering team, you will apply advanced aerospace engineering principles, practices, and standards to deliver high‑quality cabin retrofit solutions. You will manage all technical and project aspects of assigned aircraft modifications—from defining global architectures and engineering drawings to coordinating international stakeholders, subcontractors, and certification plans, and providing on‑site liaison support to customer and MRO facilities during modification embodiment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive cabin retrofit solutions ranging from global architecture definition to detailed technical design.
  • Create robust retrofit engineering drawings with a continuous focus on lead‑time optimization, quality, and cost‑efficiency.
  • Determine and specify the complete kit requirements needed to support the physical retrofit design.
  • Develop aircraft modifications in strict alignment with the established project plan.
  • Author, develop, and manage program enablers, securing their timely and high‑quality delivery.
  • Coordinate and manage all project stakeholders to ensure seamless, on‑time engineering project delivery.
  • Manage external subcontractors, closely monitoring performance, cost, and delivery schedules.
  • Serve as a strong technical liaison between internal teams and international Airbus departments.
  • Develop the aircraft certification plan tailored to specific cabin modification scopes.
  • Support the formal aircraft certification process in compliance with aviation authority requirements as required.
  • Provide direct technical support to on‑site modification teams, including active deployment to customer airlines or MRO facilities.
  • Respond to and resolve technical queries during and after the delivery of work instructions and retrofit kits.
  • Prepare and produce Service Bulletins, interpreting and cross‑referencing complex Bills of Materials and customer‑specific modification requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Operate personal computer, telephone, copier, fax machine, and related office equipment.
  • Carry documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30 lbs (14 kg).

  • Push and pull small office furniture and some equipment.
  • Stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor; sit for long periods during meetings.
  • Walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces.
  • Use personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective gloves, respirators/masks; steel‑toed shoes required for shop‑floor visits.
Travel

Up to 10% domestic and international travel required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 9 years of engineering experience; alternatively, a Master’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Proficiency in design and CAD using industry‑standard tools (e.g., CATIAV5 or similar).
  • Experience with project or program engineering methodologies and driving technical milestones on schedule.
  • Aircraft cabin or MRO experience preferred; airline/MRO experience desired.
  • Knowledge of FAA or EASA regulations related to parts procurement, documentation, and traceability (preferred).
  • Experience with illustrated Parts Catalogs, ATA Technical Manuals (e.g., AMM, SRM, CMM) (preferred).
  • Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain an internal network with colleagues globally.
  • Python or other programming language experience (preferred).
