Sr. Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our team in Mobile, Alabama. This is a contract position with the potential for long-term employment, offering the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced accounting environment. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of attention to detail and a strong ability to manage multiple financial processes effectively.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the management of multiple bank accounts, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation.

- Handle accounts payable processes for various operations, including charter, management, and maintenance expenses.

- Record and monitor daily accounts receivable transactions, ensuring proper tracking and reporting.

- Reconcile credit card statements and bank accounts to maintain financial accuracy.

- Collaborate with team members on credit card management and invoicing processes.

- Track charter revenue and associated costs, ensuring payments are received and properly recorded.

- Manage aircraft-related accounting tasks, including operational and maintenance expenses.

- Support general ledger activities, payroll processing, and compliance requirements.

- Assist in audit preparation and provide necessary documentation and support.

- Prepare financial reports and ensure they adhere to company standards and regulations. Requirements

- Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.

- Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries.

- Proficiency in account reconciliation, including bank and credit card statements.

- Familiarity with payroll processing and related compliance requirements.

- Ability to assist in audit preparation and ensure proper documentation.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; experience with Quick Books is preferred but not mandatory.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Strong ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
