Overview

Teller-Floating role at Renasant Bank
. The position requires processing transactions, assisting customers, and recognizing and referring sales opportunities to appropriate bank representatives and/or lines of business, while complying with bank policies and procedures. The role emphasizes accuracy, risk mitigation, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role serves as a primary point of contact in the branch and supports the Sales and Service vision by providing excellent customer service and accurate completion of transactions.

Responsibilities
  • Process customer transactions effectively and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payoffs and draws, official checks, etc.
  • Recognize and identify customer needs during transactions and refer customers to appropriate platforms for needs-based conversations.
  • Execute Renasant Bank service standards in every customer and teammate interaction.
  • Understand and address customer issues and concerns, either resolving or referring to a branch teammate who can help.
  • Maintain service knowledge standards in alignment with related regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform daily operations including balancing, supplies ordering, balancing the ATM and vault, and branch capture procedures.
  • Protect the bank from unnecessary risk by following compliance, risk, and operational procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date on regulations, policies, and procedures related to Teller and branch operations.
  • Assist the Head Teller with additional operational procedures as necessary, including quarterly branch assessments.
  • May assist with coaching and mentoring, and serve as a role model in all areas of operations for teller teammates.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 year teller experience and/or previous cash handling experience preferred
  • 6 months of customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate with customers and identify opportunities to help with their financial needs by recognizing cues and clues during transactions
  • 10-Key skills
  • Mathematical skills, including counting cash and coin in a fast-paced environment
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to learn bank products and solutions
  • Ability to travel for training, development opportunities, and between branches as needed
Senior Tellers
  • Minimum of 1 year successful teller experience
  • Minimum of 1 year previous back-up Head Teller experience required
