Position SummaryThe Secondary Market Post-Closing Specialist is responsible for providing support within the post-closing department to ensure that loan files are audited, shipped and sold to secondary investors in a timely manner. This position is also responsible for upholding the outstanding reputation of the bank by providing unmatched hospitality and customer support, both internally and externally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure timely and independent loan file auditing when files are received in the post-closing department.
- Review signed settlement documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance with closing instructions.
- Ship files via electronic upload/overnight delivery to secondary market investors / mortgage insurance companies, and cure any post-closing conditions/issue.
- Field customer calls regarding post-closing issues.
- Ensure compliance with the Bank policies by utilizing loan review, loan operations and deposit operations staff as needed.
- Maintain excellent customer relations and confidentiality of the customer’s personal information.
- Remain current on and adhere to all regulatory required training.
- Attend various mortgage courses or other general banking courses as required.
- Stay current with federal, state regulations, policies and industry trends.
- Special projects and/or other duties as assigned by Management.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least two (2) years of related or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of real estate lending criteria, compliance, federal/state regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products to include:
Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Be familiar with and follow policy and procedures, and support Management’s decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner.
- Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and complete annual compliance training applicable to the position.
- Apply general accounting knowledge processes (debits, credits, balancing).
- Assure customer service is top priority whether internally or externally; treat customers and employees professionally, with courtesy and respect.
- Work in a fast‑paced team environment, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize work.

The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee will regularly sit; talk; hear; and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee will occasionally stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb and balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Special vision requirements include close, distant, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
