General Information

This is public safety work engaging directly in firefighting and station and equipment maintenance activities.

Salary
  • City of Mobile $51,402 - $82,174
  • City of Prichard $35,664 - $55,320
  • City of Chickasaw $41,280 - $64,044
  • City of Saraland $43,569 - $69,652
  • City of Bayou La Batre $37,240 - $59,535
  • City of Satsuma $40,458 - $64,678 (5% incentive pay increase for Satsuma Fire Fighters who completed training)
Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from a standard senior high school, or successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.

Special Requirement

Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence.

Application Requirements

Applications for Firefighter must include either a Fire Fighter I certificate or a Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) document. Non-certificate applicants must attach a CPAT document completed within the past year. Certified applicants may be eligible to have the online examination waived.

Applicants must pass an examination in order to qualify for this position. Examination details will be provided to candidates who meet the above requirements.
