Overview Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program
Licensure, Registration, Certification:
- BLS
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC
- Licensed by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy
- ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certification within 6 months of employment in designated areas as determined by administration
Desired Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in respiratory science
Responsible for setting up and operating various types of respiratory care equipment. Uses additional competencies to assist physicians with advanced procedures related to the diagnosis or treatment of cardiopulmonary diseases. Ensures continuity of patient care by providing direct personal care, rehabilitative measures, and supportive services in an assigned area.
