Summary:

The University of South Alabama’s Chemistry department is seeking to hire a Research Technologist I. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a physical or natural science from an accredited institution. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Synthesizes ionic liquids and other compounds as needed from appropriate starting materials.
• Analyzes synthesis products using techniques such as NMR, TGA, DSC, or other techniques as needed, to determine their composition and properties.
• Keeps accurate records of lab work in both paper and electronic form as needed.
• Assists with preparation of research publications, presentations, and reports.
• Maintains an organized and safe laboratory environment.
• Assists students and faculty with lab instrument use.
• Assists with lab chemical inventory and organization.
• Regular and prompt attendance.
• Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime hours as required.
• Related duties as required.
