Position: Staff Pharmacist- 24 hour Part Time Small Box Location

Overview

In our Retail locations, Staff Pharmacists lead the pharmacy team, ensuring safe dispensing, counseling, and immunization practices while supporting the Pharmacy Manager and maintaining compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Live our purpose by improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
  • Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee the pharmacy as their proxy during bench shifts, strengthening performance through coaching and follow‑up.
  • Assume the Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
  • Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, coaching the team to provide compassionate care, collaborating with the patient’s healthcare team, and resolving insurance or medication issues.
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, engaging and supporting Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching inventory best practices, with special focus on protecting cold‑chain products.
  • Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating issues as needed.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, support the team, and write the pharmacy schedule when directed.
  • Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, pursue continuing education, and expand knowledge to better support patients.
  • Support access to care by delivering pharmacist‑led clinical services such as testing and prescribing (e.g., COVID/Flu, hormonal contraception) where permissible, empowering the team to provide holistic care.
  • Comply with all federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, including CVS Health policies, controlled substance dispensing, record‑keeping, and privacy protection.

    Remaining mobile, lifting, scanning, stretching, and working with fingers for repetitive tasks; occasional lifts up to 20 lbs.

Pay

The typical pay range for this part‑time role is $60.00 – $76.00 per hour.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of related experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
