Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team at Mobile Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Mobile, AL. As a COTA, you will work closely with our occupational therapists to design and implement individualized treatment plans for patients recovering from injuries, illnesses, or surgeries.

About the Role:

As a COTA at Mobile Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment where you will help patients develop the skills and strategies needed to perform daily living activities, participate in meaningful hobbies, and regain independence. You will collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care that addresses the physical, emotional, and social needs of our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist occupational therapists in the design and implementation of treatment plans
  • Conduct occupational therapy sessions with patients, including exercises, activities, and interventions
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure seamless care coordination
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state of Alabama
  • Strong knowledge of occupational therapy theories and practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
