Schedule/

Hours:

M – F 8:00 am – 4:30 pmThis position is responsible for:

Supervises and monitors the day-to-day activities of an assigned program in the federal residential and other substance abuse programs. Maintains case load of consumers based on workload, staff needs and enrollment in program. Prepares and maintains up-to-date electronic case notes, consumer records and reports. Sends monthly reports to Probation Officers as required Utilizes evidence-based counseling techniques including but not limited to motivational interviewing, 12 Step counseling, cognitive therapy techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Plans and develops counseling services based on consumer need. Determines eligibility for services or makes referrals as needed. Working knowledge of group dynamics, recovery, and relapse prevention

Sends monthly updates to Probation Officers. Makes frequent court appearances.

Participates in staff meetings and general case reviews during staffing and other program business. Maintains community contact for appropriate referrals and supplemental services

Physical Requirements and

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking

Work requires performance of duties in social services environments where exposure to communicable and infectious diseases are possible.

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Science or a related field AND Certified as a substance abuse counselor through NAADAC or AADAA or licensed as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW; or ability to achieve certification within first 24 months of employment ANDTwo years clinical experience in the substance abuse or mental health field orAny equivalent experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Licenses and

Certifications:

Valid State Driver’s License Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (as outlined above)
CPR/First Aid ( or ability to become certified within 30 days of hire)
