- Inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Ensures patient confidentiality
- Signs/initials documentation
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
- Basic coding and filling of insurance forms and conducting preauthorization work and obtaining appropriate certifications
- Scans all pertinent information into the electronic health record system.
- Medical Assistant will assist physician with any procedures.
- Prepares all pre screening for procedures and surgical consults
- Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
- Related duties as required
- Communicates with patients on behalf of providers.
- Maintains exam rooms are fully stocked by supporitng inventofy of supplies.
- Organizing, planning, and prioritizing work in conjunction with the provider, nursing staff, and Nurse Manager
- Medical Assistant will greet patients, assure patient flow runs smoothly and efficiently, escort patients to discharge counter.
- Medical Assistant will explain treatment procedures and prepare patient and exam room for examination.
- Perform patient call backs, arrange referrals and testing, and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Assist registration staff and perform additional clerical duties as necessary.
- Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
- Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
- Related duties as assigned
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent Required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant or related healthcare training program Preferred
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - . Upon Hire Preferred
- Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
