Team Lead / Data Engineering Lead & DBA (Snowflake, Healthcare)

On behalf of our client we are seeking a Senior Data Engineering Leader to step into a critical role supporting and scaling their enterprise data platform. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on data engineering depth
, has led small-to-mid-sized teams
, and has built or operated modern cloud-based data warehouse environments
, with a strong preference for Snowflake
.

You will own the design, reliability, and evolution of our cloud data platform
, while mentoring engineers and partnering closely with analytics, product, and business stakeholders in a healthcare environment
.

• Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers / Analytics Engineers
  , providing technical direction and delivery ownership
• Own and evolve the enterprise data warehouse
  , with Snowflake as the core platform
• Design and maintain scalable, high-performance columnar data models for analytics and reporting
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines across cloud-based data sources
• Partner with analytics, product, and healthcare domain teams to support reporting, insights, and operational use cases
• Drive best practices around data reliability, performance, cost optimization, and governance
• Support and guide architectural decisions across cloud data platforms
• Participate in hands-on engineering while acting as a technical leader (player/coach model)

• 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Platform roles
• Proven leadership experience (team lead, staff engineer, or similar)
• Strong experience with cloud data warehouse platforms
  , including:
• Snowflake (strongly preferred)
• Databricks or AWS Redshift
• Solid understanding of columnar data stores and analytical data modeling
• Experience designing data solutions in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Strong SQL skills and experience building production-grade data pipelines
• Experience working in regulated or data-sensitive environments
• Healthcare industry experience (payer, provider, PBM, health tech, or similar)

• Experience supporting analytics, BI, and downstream reporting teams
• Exposure to modern data tooling (dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, etc.)
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks in healthcare
• Background as a Staff Engineer or Team Lead who still enjoys hands-on work
