As a Hardware Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Lenovo laptops used by students and faculty. You will manage the repair process end-to-end — from diagnosing issues and ordering parts to tracking shipments and providing technical support. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to customer service and problem-solving.
Compensation: $17-20/hr.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose hardware issues and perform repairs on Lenovo laptops.
Replace or upgrade faulty components as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues on Lenovo devices.
Perform routine maintenance and system updates.
Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts orders, and maintenance activities.
Coordinate with IT staff for issue escalation and resolution.
Provide in-person and remote technical support to students and faculty.
Serve as a key point of contact for helpdesk support related to Lenovo laptops.
Assist with initial setup, imaging, and configuration of new Lenovo laptops.
Stay current on Lenovo hardware, tools, and diagnostic software.
Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent (Technical certification or degree in Computer Hardware or related field preferred).
Proven hands-on experience in hardware repair, especially with Lenovo laptops.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and laptop internals.
Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting both hardware and software issues.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Detail-oriented with the ability to keep accurate repair and inventory records.
Highly Preferred:Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing Windows-based systems.
Familiarity with Lenovo diagnostic tools and software.
