Data Protection Analyst

Responsibilities

• Monitor data activity using data protection and DLP technologies
• Investigate and respond to data protection events and alerts
• Support daily operations and maintenance of security and data protection technologies
• Generate, analyze, and publish recurring and ad-hoc data protection metrics and operational reports
• Perform health checks and validation to ensure supported security technologies are functioning as expected

• Bachelor's Degree or 4+ additional years of equivalent experience (or military service training)
• 1+ years of related experience including IT (Cybersecurity, networking, etc)
• Strong foundational analytical and problem-solving skills
• Networking fundamentals
• Secure communications (SSH, SSL/TLS)
• Data privacy fundamentals
• Understanding of personal information (PI) protection
• Basic knowledge of privacy incident reporting and impact analysis
• Cybersecurity fundamentals
• Familiarity with Vulnerability and risk management
• Basic programming or scripting skills
• Academic background in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, Networking, or other STEM disciplines.
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, A+, Server+, or equivalent; ITIL Fundamentals preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
