Overview
We are seeking an experienced ADA Digital Accessibility Specialist to support the discovery, testing, and remediation of accessibility issues across websites, web and mobile applications, online forms, PDFs, conventional documents, dashboards, videos, and other digital content.
Work Arrangement:
Hybrid, with potential for up to three remote days per week after a trial period. Contract Duration:
Through June 30, 2027, with a possible one-year extension. Work Authorization: US Citizens only. No C2C. Candidates must be current Wisconsin residents; applicants located near Madison are strongly preferred. Relocation is not permitted.
- Identify and remediate digital accessibility issues across websites, applications, forms, PDFs, and documents
- Ensure digital content meets ADA Title II, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1 AA requirements
- Develop accessibility workflows, testing procedures, documentation, and staff checklists
- Educate and support employees in creating accessible digital content
- Conduct manual and automated accessibility testing
- Test content using screen readers, keyboard navigation, contrast tools, and accessibility checkers
- Provide technical guidance on accessible websites, documents, dashboards, applications, and videos
- Lead accessibility remediation efforts independently and ensure timely completion
- Collaborate with technical teams, business users, content creators, and organizational leadership
- 2–3 years of relevant experience
- Hands-on ADA digital accessibility experience
- Experience testing and remediating websites, applications, forms, PDFs, and conventional documents
- Strong understanding of ADA Title II, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines
- Experience using WAVE, Lighthouse, NVDA, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and manual keyboard testing
- Knowledge of web accessibility barriers and assistive technologies
- Strong problem-solving and issue-resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of remediation initiatives
- Excellent written, verbal, customer service, and communication skills
- Ability to complete tasks independently with urgency and attention to detail
- Experience developing accessibility documentation, procedures, or staff checklists
- Experience delivering accessibility training and technical support
- Strong professional collaboration across all organizational levels
- Experience with Microsoft accessibility checkers and color contrast analysis tools
