Job Description
Position:
Manager of IT Infrastructure (Mobile, Alabama). Reports to the Director of Business Integration and supervises IT Infrastructure Engineers and Administrators. The role is on‑site unless otherwise specified.
- Lead teams that maintain systems, networking, database, and datacenter infrastructure.
- Manage individual contributors and ensure departmental goals, project participation, and daily operational support.
- Accountable for performance, availability, and security of all infrastructure technology, on‑premises and cloud, and associated networks.
- Develop plans, roadmaps, and resource strategies to modernize and evolve infrastructure to meet future needs aligned with business strategy.
- Collaborate with IT Leadership and peers to design, implement, and continuously improve the infrastructure environment.
- Oversee planning, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure components for high availability, performance, security, and modernization.
- Manage changes in priorities, funding, scope, and timing to keep alignment with business expectations.
- Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending.
- Run processes for effective oversight, asset management, and change management.
- Anticipate and plan for long‑term needs of the IT environment.
- Interact with IT leadership on projects and with business leaders on initiatives.
- Select, develop, and evaluate staff for efficient operation and modernization.
- Negotiate and administer vendor and consultant contracts.
- Identify innovative technical and process solutions to improve performance, cost, compliance, and customer service.
- Ensure adherence to corporate, industry, national, and international standards.
- Set goals and expectations; monitor and manage employee performance.
- Manage physical equipment in data centers (HVAC, UPS, fire suppression, racks, servers, appliances).
- Work with managed service and cloud vendors for high availability and resilience.
- Lead, develop, update, and document the lifecycle of IT infrastructure.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery Response Team and maintain IT‑related DR processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- High School/GED required.
- Seven years or more of technology leadership experience.
- Experience with IT infrastructure and operations, on premise and cloud, preferably in manufacturing environments.
- Microsoft, ITIL, or Service Professional certification required; PMP or similar preferred.
- Ability to lead projects from requirements through delivery.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and organizations.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of work time.
- Must meet eligibility criteria: 18+ years, US person status, no recent felony convictions, willing to submit to drug screen and background check.
- May need to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.
