A growing multi-site dental services organisation is seeking a commercially minded, field-based Director of Operations to lead activities in Alabama. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a hands‑on operator who can own a regional P&L, coach practice leaders, and drive operational performance across a portfolio of dental practices.

Reporting directly to the COO, the Director of Operations will act as the general manager for their respective region, with full accountability for market performance, team leadership, operational execution, and financial outcomes. The role is highly visible, field-based, and suited to a leader who enjoys being close to the business rather than managing from behind a desk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own regional P&L performance and deliver against financial and operational targets.
  • Partner closely with practice managers and field teams to improve day‑to‑day execution.
  • Drive performance across key metrics including dollars per visit, visits per day, and doctor days.
  • Coach, influence, and support teams through change while maintaining a practical, hands‑on leadership style.
  • Identify operational gaps and implement consistent market‑level improvements.
  • Support hiring and talent development processes across administrative and income‑producing roles.
  • Act as a visible, field‑based leader who builds trust with practice teams and removes barriers to performance.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven multi‑site operations leadership experience, ideally in the dental business
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing a regional P&L.
  • Comfortable operating in a flat structure with direct exposure to senior leadership.
  • Hands‑on approach with the ability to coach and execute.
  • Confident handling conflict, leading difficult conversations, and influencing stakeholders through change.
  • Track record of developing teams, improving operating standards, and delivering measurable performance improvement.
  • Preference for candidates developed in organisations known for strong leadership training and disciplined operational execution.
