Director Of Ethics & Compliance

Airbus is an international pioneer in the aerospace industry. We are a leader in designing, manufacturing and delivering aerospace products, services and solutions to customers on a global scale. We aim for a better-connected, safer and more prosperous world.

Airbus Americas seeks a Director of Ethics & Compliance (E&C) to serve as the on-site E&C leader at its Mobile Manufacturing Site (MMS) located in the Gulf Coast Region of Alabama. This high-profile role requires a hands-on approach to integrate E&C into daily manufacturing operations, ensuring the highest standards of integrity. The Director will lead the E&C function at the MMS, driving awareness of Airbus' values and adherence to the expectations and controls that provide the foundation of our success.

The position is particularly important given the significant expansion underway at the facility. Joining a small team making a big impact, the position directly reports to Airbus' North American Head of E&C based in Metro-DC. The candidate will be challenged from Day 1 to demonstrate leadership, build positive relationships and contribute to achieving program goals by learning, adapting and driving Airbus' Culture of Compliance through processes, tools and training at the site and across North America.

The E&C Director will join peers as part of the MMS Senior Leadership Team (SLT), providing counsel and assistance to the Head of Site, as well as leaders from Human Resources, Finance, Procurement, IM and Security - all with a goal of mitigating risk, ensuring effective controls, and helping the team grow and prosper.

Finally, success in the position requires building trustful relationships with E&C colleagues in Europe and across the globe. In this context, the ideal candidate will combine high integrity and discipline with flexibility and enthusiasm to positively influence Airbus' future.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead the cultural integration of ethics and compliance at the MMS, ensuring a visible, respected, and approachable E&C presence within a dynamic, technical manufacturing environment.

Demonstrate an authentic and positive mindset, good judgment and confidence to encourage approachability and gain trust.

Integrate into the MMS SLT by demonstrating value to the Site Head and his/her direct reports.

Lead, mentor, and manage the team of 5 volunteer Ethics & Compliance Representatives (ECRs), part of a ~30-person Regional Network, growing to over 300 ECRs worldwide, including - in cooperation with the ECRs' managers - relevant aspects Page 2 of annual performance reviews.

Serve as an E&C role model, spokesperson and liaison to employees and other stakeholders across the Airbus organization.

Risk & Investigations

Proactively analyze site-specific compliance risks, particularly concerning manufacturing operations, and develop concrete, actionable mitigation strategies for the Site Head and SLT.

Lead internal investigations of alleged Compliance violations, partnering with HR, Legal and other functions, where helpful.

Program Management

Oversee and make timely, informed decisions on the E&C compliance program, including due diligence for third-party engagements, conflict of interest disclosures, and requests for gifts, hospitality, and sponsor ships.

Promptly and professionally respond to requests from various stakeholders, including AAI Leadership, the Office of General Counsel, Compliance Committees, and Internal and External Auditors.
