DESCRIPTION
The Director of Operations provides leadership and supervision to various functions of the School System including but not limited to transportation, custodial services, plant managers, maintenance, and construction projects. The Director will be expected to work as part of a team, provide information and serve as a resource to the School System, ensuring the System meets its mission and goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Administer the school system transportation, maintenance, and operations programs
- Advise on school closings due to hazardous conditions
- Recommend, coordinate, and manage capital projects
- Assist in planning and implementing budgets for the Operations Departments
- Monitor building compliance with all health, safety and fire codes
- Create and communicate project milestones, timelines, and deadlines in a report format
- Serve as the school system's representative with various committees, agencies, and conferences as assigned by the Superintendent's Designee
- Assist in the purchasing of materials and supplies pertaining to the Operations Departments
- Assume administrative responsibilities for routine duties of the Operations Department, including payroll reports, vacation schedules, monthly reports, inventory, and annual reports
- Support the Superintendent's Designee in overall administrative efforts of the school system and keeps the Superintendent's Designee informed of pertinent developments and events
- Coordinate training programs for support services personnel
- Provide monthly maintenance report to the Superintendent's Designee
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Two- year degree or higher preferred
- Construction Supervisor Experience or equivalent, minimum of 5 years preferred
- Project Management Professional Certification preferred
Salary Range:
According to Madison County Schools Salary Schedule.
