About the role This role is designed to support the Vice President of Operations in managing and overseeing the core operational functions within the Central division of the company. You will be responsible for ensuring that operational departments such as measuring, purchasing, fleet management, administration, and scheduling operate efficiently and effectively. Your primary focus will be on developing, implementing, and maintaining systems and processes that promote operational excellence, cost savings, and organizational growth.
The position involves strategic planning, coordination across multiple teams, and direct management of daily workflows to meet organizational goals. You will play a key role in ensuring that the operational activities align with the company's overall business strategy, while also fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

- Collaborate closely with the executive leadership team to develop strategies that meet company backlog and conversion targets by optimizing pre-installation workflows and processes.
- Work with other divisions and departments to ensure organizational objectives are achieved efficiently and effectively, fostering cross-functional collaboration.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, technological advancements, and system enhancements that can increase operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve resource utilization.
- Partner with the VP of Operations to align departmental decisions, project plans, staffing, development initiatives, procurement, and facilities management with the company's strategic business plan.
- Assist the VP of Operations in establishing, managing, and monitoring budgets for various operational departments, ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining quality standards.
- Prepare and present performance reports, key metrics, and operational insights to the Vice President of Operations and other senior leaders to inform decision-making.
- Identify training needs across departments and develop or oversee the implementation of training programs to enhance staff skills and operational knowledge.
- Lead recruitment efforts by interviewing, hiring, and onboarding staff for departments that lack existing management or require additional personnel to meet operational demands.
- Determine appropriate staffing levels for relevant departments using financial planning and analysis (FP&A) data and budget considerations, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Oversee the daily workflow, including managing the pre-install backlog, ensuring timely completion of tasks, and maintaining high levels of productivity across teams.
- Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports, their teams, and provide feedback to executive leadership on departmental performance and staffing needs.
- Manage employee discipline, conflict resolution, and terminations in accordance with company policies, maintaining a positive and compliant work environment.
- Provide technical guidance and support to departments such as Measuring, Permitting, Scheduling, Ordering, Service, Production, and Installation, especially when department managers lack specific expertise or are not yet in place.
- Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed to meet organizational targets.
- Support the development of departmental policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency and compliance across all operational activities.
- Facilitate communication and coordination among teams to ensure seamless workflow and customer satisfaction.
- Lead initiatives to improve safety, quality, and efficiency within operational departments.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes that could impact operations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance within the operations team.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry-related experience, including at least 3 years in upper management or senior leadership roles.
- Proven ability to develop and implement operational strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively conveying complex information to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership capabilities, with experience managing teams and developing talent.
- Extensive knowledge of industry principles, procedures, and best practices relevant to operations management.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
