Job Description
Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Flight line Mechanic to join our Manufacturing department based in Mobile, AL.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot malfunctions, rigs, repairs, replace aircraft structures, components and aircraft systems of moderate difficulty.
- Maintain and rework aircraft components including but not limited to landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and ventilation.
- Service and repair cabin interior components.
- Prepare documentation in accordance with company procedure.
- Perform day-to-day aircraft maintenance.
- Experience with refuel/defuel, aircraft jack and tow.
Boarding Pass / Qualifications
- 3 years minimum aviation experience, preferably in an aviation manufacturing or MRO environment.
- Valid Airframe License.
- Must be willing to work rotational shift schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport which allows unrestricted travel to Canada.
- Vocational/Technical School Credential.
Physical Requirements
- Vision: adequate to read computer screens and identify people for greetings and directions.
- Hearing: sufficient to engage in conversation and hear alerts and warning signals.
- Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means.
- Equipment Operation: able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment.
- Carries up to 30 lbs occasionally.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Pushing/Pulling as needed in office areas and shop floor.
- Sitting for extended periods at computer and in meetings.
- Squatting/Kneeling to retrieve or replace items on bottom shelves.
- Standing for extended periods delivering information.
- Travel domestically and internationally for short periods.
- Walking through office and production areas, flight lines and airstrip on uneven surfaces.
Work Environment and Term
This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.
