Job Description
Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a X-Plant Electrical Assembler to join our X-Plant department based in Mobile, AL. The role involves ensuring Flight Line Availability Lift (FAL) and Flight Line milestones are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, cost, and schedule adherence across multiple competencies.
Responsibilities- Knowledge of hand, power, and cutting tools related to Airbus manufacturing.
- Willingness to learn and cross‑skill within multiple functions and competencies.
- Ability to work across different teams to coordinate and complete activities.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving ability.
- Knowledge of station safety, quality, FOD, and OSHA regulations.
- Able to enter, generate, and retrieve information using a computer or tablet (SAP and Excel knowledge preferred).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Training from a vocational school or previous employer in the use of application tools and techniques.
- 2+ years hands‑on experience in aviation repair work.
- Perform basic electrical tests (continuity, bonding, insulation, DC high voltage).
- Output assemblies ready for integration with all associated production documentation.
- Onsite: ability to work on the production floor.
- Vision: read computer screens, documents, engineering drawings.
- Hearing: participate in conversations and notice alarms.
- Speaking: communicate in meetings and deliver information.
- Equipment operation: operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
- Carrying: carry documents, tools, equipment up to 30 lbs (14 kg).
- Lifting: lift documents, tools, equipment up to 30 lbs (14 kg).
- Pushing / pulling: move small office furniture and some equipment.
- Sitting: sit for extended periods, work on computer.
- Squatting / kneeling: retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
- Standing: stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
- Travel: travel independently and on short notice.
- Walking: walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces.
- Required PPE: safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, gloves as required by site and/or customer.
- Administrative positions: steel‑toed shoes required for any shop‑floor visit; hearing/eye protection may also be required.
