We are hiring an Outside Machinist with Line Bore experience for field-based industrial work. This position requires hands‑on machining skills in the field — not just shop work.
You’ll be repairing worn bores, alignments, and heavy equipment components on‑site in industrial environments.
Responsibilities- Perform line boring operations on heavy equipment and industrial machinery
- Set up and align portable machining equipment
- Repair bearing housings and worn components
- Read blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Perform precision measurements and adjustments
- Work in field environments (plant sites, industrial facilities, etc.)
- Maintain strict safety compliance
- 3+ years machining experience
- Proven line boring experience (required)
- Ability to set up and operate portable line boring equipment
- Experience with heavy industrial equipment
- Ability to travel if required
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Experience as an Outside Machinist in shipyard, refinery, or heavy industry
- Millwright background
- TWIC card (if applicable to region)
- OSHA 10 or 30
This role is for someone who can show up to a plant, set up, and get it done without hand‑holding.
