About the Role:

We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Machinist who is interested in growing into an Instructor role
. This position will start as a hands‑on machinist role and evolve into a training and mentorship position, where you’ll teach and develop other CNC machinists through structured training classes and on‑the‑floor coaching.

This is a long‑term opportunity for someone who enjoys leadership, sharing knowledge, and helping build strong machining talent.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC mills and/or lathes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings
  • Program and edit CNC programs (G-code or conversational, as applicable)
  • Perform first article inspections and quality checks
  • Diagnose machining issues and recommend process improvements
  • Maintain tooling, fixtures, and machine performance
  • Support continuous improvement and shop efficiency initiatives
Instructor Track Responsibilities (as role evolves):
  • Train and mentor junior and mid-level CNC machinists
  • Assist with developing training materials, SOPs, and best practices
  • Lead small group training sessions and hands‑on instruction
  • Support onboarding of new machinists
  • Promote safety, quality, and machining standards
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience (mills and/or lathes)
  • Strong setup and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with CNC programming and editing
  • Ability to read blueprints and GD&T
  • High attention to quality and detail
  • Strong communication skills and patience for teaching
  • Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus
  • Prior training or instructor experience is a plus (not required)
