Job Description

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for an A220 Mechanical Quality Inspector (2nd Shift) to join our Team based in Mobile, AL. The Mechanical Quality Inspector is responsible for the execution and confirmation of quality inspections as part of the production process with an emphasis on the aircraft structural assemblies and components.

  • Contribute to investigations and root cause analysis into reported quality / quality technical issues from the business team and customer, to ensure appropriate containment and archiving, corrective and curative action is taken by the accountable function through multifunctional teams.
  • Perform Quality Inspections as per defined standards, Final Check and Attestation, Stop Points, Out of sequence work, including critical activities (when not delegated).
  • Ensure Operational Surveillance (people, product and process).
  • Provide feedback and coaching to Operations & Support Functions on Quality issues and observations from Operational Surveillance.
  • Actively participate in process improvements.

Perform Quality Inspection Tasks

Perform all defined Quality Inspection up to product delivery. Red flag all the deviation which occurs on product, equipment and tools. Verify that the industrial environment, facilities, hardware and tools respond to the operations & safety requirements.

  • Execute technical inspections in the production process of the aircraft in the context of the authorization of manufacturer operation.
  • Prepare and perform visual, incoming, first article, final inspections during aircraft manufacture for compliance with design specifications, customers and certification requirements.
  • Document the technical inspections performed in the FLEXNET/NCMS/SAP production orders SAP‑based and the relevant IT systems by inspection remarks and complete other aircraft documents as well as prepare first article inspection reports.
