Job Title: Production Attendant

Department: Furnace

Reports To: Furnace Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary This position weighs, packages, and labels products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble containers as needed and place them in position for filling or dumping.
  • Make upload labels as needed and apply them according to established packaging procedures; uses barcode system.
  • Periodically check production for quality; notify supervisor, if necessary, when poor quality is observed.
  • Monitor and operate weighing equipment.
  • Occasionally train inexperienced employees.
  • Drive forklifts as needed to move product to the proper location.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly; clean up major spills when required.
  • Package products according to established packaging procedures.
  • Record and maintain all production data in accordance with established procedures.
  • Use safe working practices and report hazardous conditions at all times.
  • Periodically relieve others as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
