Job Title: Production Attendant
Department: Furnace
Reports To: Furnace Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary This position weighs, packages, and labels products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assemble containers as needed and place them in position for filling or dumping.
- Make upload labels as needed and apply them according to established packaging procedures; uses barcode system.
- Periodically check production for quality; notify supervisor, if necessary, when poor quality is observed.
- Monitor and operate weighing equipment.
- Occasionally train inexperienced employees.
- Drive forklifts as needed to move product to the proper location.
- Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly; clean up major spills when required.
- Package products according to established packaging procedures.
- Record and maintain all production data in accordance with established procedures.
- Use safe working practices and report hazardous conditions at all times.
- Periodically relieve others as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
