Machinist will work in the Machine Shop, set up and operate Computer Numeric Control (CNC) production equipment as well as manual shop equipment (milling machines and lathes). This position could be hired for 2nd Shift (2:00-10:30PM) or 3rd Shift (10:00PM-6:30AM) and must be able to work with minimal supervision.

- Perform machining tasks including setup and operation of equipment such as 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills, lathes, routers, lasers as well as manual milling machines; basic experience programming using Catia or better.
- Read and write G-code using CAM software as the machine controller.
- Produce quality products in a timely manner according to specifications and documents.
- Work with aerospace materials (e.g., aluminum, titanium, stainless steel) with a focus on quality.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and written work plans; interpret GD&T.
- Utilize ISO-compliant documentation to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces and sequence of operations.
- Use various measuring techniques to validate conformance to requirements.
- Knowledge of tooling, tool setting, offsetting, and basic inspections.
- Observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust controls.
- Verify conformance of finished first article work pieces to specifications and conduct inspections in accordance with SPC.
- Use hand deburring tools and coordinate with leads and supervisors to resolve machining issues.
- Adhere to all safety and security requirements.
- Code programs for new parts that come into the shop.
- Create and correct DXF and GNH files in Enroute or Gravostyle software systems.
- Create setup instructions and review CAD design blueprints.
- Establish sequencing of cuts for each job and select cutting tools.
- Read detailed plans and diagrams and inspect parts prior to assembly; ensure parts are defect-free.
- Cut, grind, or trim parts to fit.
- Assist in developing patterns or templates to simplify manufacturing processes and ensure proper cutting, filing, drilling and reaming of metal, plastic, and rubber sections.
