Systems Engineer
Airbus Americas, Inc. is looking for a Logistics Process Engineer II (SAP/EWM) to join the team based in Mobile, AL. The role focuses on analyzing, maintaining and improving organizational performance across the logistics perimeter at the Mobile site, collaborating with the Warehousing Department and the Logistics Service Provider (LSP) to review and design logistics flows, improve operational efficiency and reduce cost.
Responsibilities- Analyze and improve Warehousing flows to support production ramp‑up (75%).
- Identify gaps and inefficiencies, develop and implement systematic solutions within SAP/EWM, and ensure effective SOPs and work instructions across programs.
- Act as focal point for the selection and implementation of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and ERP modules.
- Develop and implement Mobile Site Logistics and Distribution strategies for the A320 and A220 FAL operations to achieve rate ramp‑up and annual deliveries.
- Conduct distribution of aircraft parts, monitor inventory processes, and analyze requirements to develop strategies for desired delivery times.
- Provide guidance and leadership to less experienced staff; may have supervisory responsibilities.
- Coordinate with Program Planning and Procurement to ensure sufficient surface capacity within Distribution Center and Logistics Center.
- Recommend and support logistics technology, including WMS migration, AGV/AMR integration, and AI‑driven predictive analytics.
- Assist the Logistics Service Manager in developing and maintaining logistics metrics, internal analysis tools, and KPIs.
- Lead end‑to‑end implementation of required solutions, including budget management and multi‑functional team leadership.
- Co‑lead MFT on densification strategies and new logistics surface projects.
- Benchmark and apply best practices for optimized logistics storage.
- Manage risk and implement mitigation strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a logistics or manufacturing engineering environment.
- Advanced knowledge of SAP/EWM/Warehouse Management Systems; preference for SAP S/4
HANA experience. - Proven project management experience (minimum 5 years).
- Experience working with external service providers and within a Foreign Trade Zone manufacturing environment preferred.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills; comprehensive knowledge of company policies and workflow processes.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (green belt preferred).
- Certifications:
SAP Certified Specialist – SAP S/4
HANA Conversion and Upgrade; (preferred) SAP Certified Development Professional. - Advanced proficiency in Excel and SQL; experience with simulation tools such as Any Logic or Simio.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to translate technical data into strategic insights.
- Experience with service level agreements implementation.
- Familiarity with health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Physical requirements:
vision, hearing, speaking, carrying up to 20 lbs, lifting up to 30 lbs, occasional push/pull, standing, walking, traveling domestically and internationally, and operating on uneven surfaces.
