Heavy CNC Machinist - Large Format & Turning

About the Role We are seeking a skilled Heavy Machining Specialist to join our precision manufacturing team. You will play a critical role in producing high-quality, tight-tolerance industrial components by operating large-format CNC equipment, ensuring that every project meets our rigorous standards for accuracy and craftsmanship.

• Execute complex setups and operate Horizontal Boring Mills and Vertical Turret Lathes to meet engineering specifications.
• Manage the safe movement and secure positioning of massive work pieces using overhead cranes and advanced rigging techniques.
• Drive production quality by performing in-process dimensional inspections using precision metrology tools.
• Optimize machine performance by making necessary offset adjustments and program edits at the control interface.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop efficient setup strategies for first-run and high-complexity components.
• Maintain rigorous documentation and material traceability to ensure project integrity throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
• Proactively identify and communicate tooling or safety concerns to prevent production delays.

• Proven experience operating large-scale CNC machinery, specifically HBMs or VTLs.
• Strong proficiency in reading complex engineering drawings and applying GD&T standards.
• Expertise in large-scale inspection methods, including the use of height gauges and precision levels.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely with heavy equipment and follow established rigging protocols.
• Solid understanding of CNC controls, such as Fanuc, with the ability to perform program edits.

• Advanced capability in independent machine setup and full-cycle CNC programming.
• Experience with overhead crane operation and current safety certifications.
• Strong background in troubleshooting and optimizing machining processes for high-tolerance parts.
