We are currently seeking a hands‑on, safety‑minded Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to run day‑to‑day operations of the on‑site WWTP at an industrial manufacturing facility. This is a great opportunity for a mechanically inclined, detail‑oriented operator who takes pride in ownership of a critical system and wants long‑term stability with a growing company.
- This position works 8 hours per day on a rotating schedule of 7 days on and 7 days off.
- $28-32 per hour, depending on experience
Decanter / Centrifuge Operations
- Operate the centrifuge (decanter) system, including start‑up, shutdown, and basic valve adjustments
- Monitor centrifuge performance and discharge quality throughout operation
- Monitor sludge basin and tank levels throughout the shift
- Operate sludge pumps as needed to transfer material
- Manage solids disposal, including dumping solids and monitoring dumpster levels
- Operate a small telehandler (lull) to move product out of the warehouse, typically weekly
- Complete daily inspection sheets and maintain accurate operational records
- Maintain daily communication with facility staff regarding equipment status and issues
- Report abnormal conditions, equipment failures, or safety concerns immediately
- Follow all facility safety rules, PPE requirements, and permit‑to‑work procedures
- Ability to work 8 hours per day on a rotating 7 day on / 7 day off schedule, which may include some holidays.
- Mechanically inclined with solid technical troubleshooting instincts around pumps, valves, and control systems
- Comfortable working from a control panel or computer interface to monitor and adjust equipment
- Basic math skills to accurately read and interpret levels, temperatures, and gauges
- Must hold a current telehandler (lull) specific powered industrial truck certification, or be able to obtain one
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Dependable, safety‑conscious, and comfortable working independently with minimal direct supervision
