Personal Attributes

This person will be an ordained minister of the Gospel. As a pastor and spiritual leader of the church, he is expected to embody and reflect in his life and ministry the biblical qualifications of a pastor as found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

He shall give evidence of a genuine conversion experience and a growing maturity in his Christian life and possess a personal awareness and conviction of a divine call to the Gospel Ministry.

Education/Training: A graduate degree from an SBC seminary is preferred. He is expected to have ministry experience in leading congregational worship. It is preferred that he have experience in facilitating discipleship group ministry. He shall possess a working knowledge of congregational worship, spiritual formation through worship, and the ability to equip and lead leaders.

Prayerful, Humble, Bold, Decisive, Cooperative, and Collaborative. He must possess the ability to see himself and the music ministry as a part of the whole and not a ministry unto itself. He shall possess the heart of a shepherd, the mind of a servant, and the mentality of a leader as he works to honor Christ in all things.

He should be able to organize, direct, and facilitate the worship ministry by knowing the music in theory and practice. He shall also be able to facilitate discipleship group ministry through the organization, administration, and equipping of leaders. He must be able to communicate clearly and creatively, think strategically with intentionality, and implement wisely with a desire to lead toward spiritual transformation in both worship and discipleship ministry.
