Position Summary
The Youth Pastor is responsible for leading a thriving ministry that helps middle and high school students become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. This person will disciple students, equip parents, develop volunteer leaders, and create an engaging, Spirit-filled environment where students encounter God, build biblical relationships, and discover their purpose.
The ideal candidate is a passionate follower of Jesus, a gifted communicator, a servant leader, and someone who values both discipleship and evangelism.
Primary Responsibilities Spiritual Leadership- Maintain a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Lead students into a deeper relationship with God through biblical teaching, prayer, worship, and discipleship.
- Model Christian character and integrity both on and off the platform.
- Create opportunities for students to discover and use their spiritual gifts.
- Plan and lead weekly youth services that are engaging, Christ-centered, and Spirit-led.
- Develop a culture where students feel welcomed, valued, and challenged to grow.
- Build intentional relationships with students through regular interaction, mentoring, and discipleship.
- Organize small groups that encourage spiritual growth and accountability.
- Reach unchurched students through outreach events and personal evangelism.
- Recruit, train, and shepherd adult volunteer leaders.
- Invest in student leaders and help them grow into ministry roles.
- Build a healthy leadership culture centered on servant leadership and teamwork.
- Partner with parents as the primary spiritual influence in their children's lives.
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding events, teaching topics, and ministry vision.
- Provide biblical encouragement and support to families.
- Plan and oversee the annual youth ministry calendar.
- Manage the youth ministry budget responsibly.
- Coordinate camps, retreats, conferences, missions trips, and special events.
- Ensure all ministry activities follow church safety policies and procedures.
- Support the overall vision and mission of the church.
- Participate in staff meetings and church-wide events.
- Build relationships across all generations within the church.
- Assist with other ministry responsibilities as directed by the Lead Pastor.
- A clear testimony of salvation and evidence of a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- A life that reflects biblical character and integrity.
- Agreement with the church's statement of faith and core values.
- Called by God into pastoral ministry.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and relational skills.
- Ability to recruit, develop, and empower volunteers.
- Excellent communication and teaching abilities.
- Passion for reaching the next generation.
- Previous experience serving in youth ministry is preferred.
- Bible college or ministry training is preferred but not required if ministry experience and gifting are evident.
The Youth Pastor will:

- Represent the church with excellence in the community.

A successful Youth Pastor will:
- Build meaningful relationships with students and families.
- Develop a growing team of healthy volunteer leaders.
- See students consistently coming to Christ, being baptized, and growing in discipleship.
- Raise up student leaders who actively serve in the church.
- Create a ministry that aligns with and advances the overall vision of the church.
