Western Home is seeking a caring Resident Assistant/Medication Manager who will truly love what they do to join our award‑winning team. The role is in an assisted living facility in a newly renovated community where staff and residents work together in a supportive, family‑like environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care to residents under the supervision of the nurse and the support of the team.
  • Assist residents with daily personal‑hygiene activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, exercises, and other assigned tasks.
  • Help with organization, cleaning, laundry, meals, and other duties as directed.
  • Promptly answer residents’ calls for assistance and provide compassionate care based on each resident’s care plan.
  • Chart resident interactions throughout the shift and communicate efficiently with team members.
  • Administer medications, tests, and medical treatments as directed (upon receiving the Medication Manager certificate).
  • Ensure residents’ rights are respected and upheld.
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to become a Medication Manager.
  • Willingness to obtain a Medication Manager certification (Western Home will enroll employees who have not yet completed the course).
  • Current active license to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Iowa.
  • Ability to interact tactfully with personnel, residents, families, visitors, and the public.
  • Strong commitment to serving others.
  • Prior direct care experience preferred, but not required.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
