Clinical Research Nurse I (On-Call)
Location:
Madison, WI – Full‑time, office/clinic‑based.
- Provide high‑standard clinical care to healthy volunteer participants.
- Ensure the dignity, health, safety, and welfare of participants is given the highest priority at all times.
- Maintain current emergency certifications and follow company emergency policies and procedures.
- Respond to emergency situations in accordance with nursing standards.
- Use nursing assessment skills to monitor participants’ general well‑being and identify potential adverse events.
- Document adverse events and take appropriate action as needed.
- Obtain informed consent and continue the ICF process by educating and informing participants of study procedures.
- Administer investigational compounds (including parenteral) to participants according to the protocol and applicable regulations.
- Perform study‑related activities such as cannulation, telemetry, Holters, vital signs, ECGs, and venipuncture.
- Undertake any other duties as required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing with current licensure in the applicable state.
- CPR/AED certification and ACLS certification preferred on entry to the role; ACLS may be obtained in‑role if not yet certified.
- 0–1 year of related experience, or additional experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with strict adherence to study protocols.
- Strong teamwork and people‑skills; ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Technology‑savvy with experience working in electronic data capture systems.
Ability to work in an upright or stationary position for 6–8 hours per day; perform repetitive hand movements and operating lab equipment; occasional crouching, stooping, bending, and twisting of the upper body and neck; access and use a variety of computer software.
