• Manage both acute and chronic illnesses, from common conditions like hypertension and diabetes to complex multi-system diseases.
• Perform thorough physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and adjust treatment plans as patient needs evolve.
• Educate patients on healthy lifestyles, recommending screenings, and administering vaccinations to reduce disease risk and detect conditions early.
• Coordinate care for patients with multiple chronic conditions to integrate treatment plans.
• Complete all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements.
• Adhere to current Infection Control and Safety Standards.
• Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
• Work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

• Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama (Required).
• Completion of an approved nurse practitioner training program (Required).
• NPC - Certified Nurse Practitioner (Required).
• Licensed Nurse Practitioner with the State of Alabama (Required).
• RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure (Required).
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

• Ability to generate and prioritize differential diagnoses using history, physical exam, and diagnostic test results.
• Develop, present, and refine assessment and management plans for complex adult illnesses.
• Apply clinical guidelines, cost considerations, and patient preferences to decision-making.
• Interpret lab results and imaging.
• Provide patient and family education on disease management and prevention.
