- Cleans equipment between each patient use
- Position requires frequent standing and walking, along with lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping/crouching, and occasional sitting.
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Assists with transfers and discharge.
- Assists with orientation of new employees as assigned
- Takes and records vital signs and weight
- Answers patient call lights promptly
- Documents patient/resident care by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Identifies expected outcomes, attends meetings
- Communication in a professional manner
- Reports any skin condition to RN
- Maintains clean and neat stocked areas
- Blood glucose monitoring
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
- Following all safety and infection control protocols
- Provides patient/resident support by assisting with travel to the bathroom; feeding patient/residents; ambulating, turning, and positioning patients/residents; applying restraints; transporting patients/residents; serving meals.
- Protects healthcare organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
- Receives verbal/written assignments from RN/LPN
- Assist patients with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting
- Operates unit equipment as required
- Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
- Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
- Related duties as assigned
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of related experience Preferred
- CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant Certification through an accredited state program upon hire required
- BCLS – Basic Life Support Certification obtained through the American Red Cross within 30 days required
- Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
- Working knowledge of infection control procedures and safety precautions
- This role requires compassion, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast‑paced healthcare setting
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Basic computer skills for electronic medical recordkeeping
- Ability to work well within a team and follow directions from supervisors
- Ability to make independent judgments regarding patient care based on sound nursing/medical knowledge.
- Ability to acquire new knowledge and skills to improve current practice and enhance professional development.
- Demonstrate the ability to act as a patient advocate.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Embraces change and lifelong learning, taking personal accountability to seek out experiences that promote personal and professional growth in order to advance skills and competence.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information, as well as the ability to be tactful, diplomatic, and flexible in a changing environment.
- Must be able to work in a fast‑paced and high‑stress environment while demonstrating well‑developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly with the medical staff, patients, families, and visitors.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Work requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions generally acquired through a high school education and medical assistant programming.
